Ministries

Life Groups

We believe that spiritual growth happens best in a small group environment where each person benefits from the encouragement and combined experience of many group members. At Mid-Way, small group Bible studies are a vital part of the community and provide an environment where people can grow spiritually and relationally with others at church.

We are currently in a new bible study during our Life Group hours for all Adults classes by Dr. David Jeremiah called Basics of the Christian Faith. This study will run from June till September, so be sure not to miss a week!

We currently offer over 90 small groups that meet each Sunday Morning and serve a variety of different interests, age groups, and people. We invite you to experience dynamic spiritual growth in one of our small groups!

For more information about this ministry, please contact Pastor Ray Hoeben at 919-772-5864 or via email at ray.hoeben@mid-way.com

Worship & Celebration Ministry

CELEBRATION ORCHESTRA
Every week the Celebration Orchestra accompanies congregational worship and presents instrumental features for our Sunday services. The Celebration Orchestra is open to high school students through adults who have a basic level of musicianship on their chosen instrument.

We meet for rehearsals each Wednesday evening from 6:00-7:00pm in the worship center and for pre-service warm-ups on Sundays at 8:10am and 5:00pm. In addition, we meet one night each month for a “super rehearsal” where we spend time learning new music.

If you are interested in joining us, please contact Pastor Greg Hales at 772-5864 or via email at greg@mid-way.com.

CELEBRATION CHOIR
The Celebration Choir at Mid-Way Baptist Church is a vibrant group of almost 100 people who provide music for each Sunday morning and evening service and help lead the congregation in worship. The Celebration Choir sings a wide variety of music and has recorded two music projects and provides special dramatic musicals for Easter, Independence Day and Christmas each year.

If you are interested in joining us, please contact Pastor Greg Hales at 772-5864 or via email at greg@mid-way.com. We meet for rehearsals each Wednesday evening at 7:30 in the Choir Suite.

DRAMA
The drama ministry of Mid-Way is an integral part of the worship service and special Music Ministry productions throughout the year. In our annual Christmas production, our drama casts have ranged from 20-45 people. Additionally, we use skits and props as a powerful way to convey truths that tie-in with Pastor’s message.

Preschool

Our mission is to provide a loving, caring and safe environment in which our preschoolers can learn and grow to love and serve God. We understand that children learn more effectively through relationships of love, trust, and acceptance than any other way. Even small infants begin forming attitudes and concepts that affect their spiritual and emotional growth. We believe that, as they grow and learn, preschoolers are capable of worship, and they want to have fun. Ultimately, we desire to see all children grow as Jesus did, “in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.” (Luke 2:52)

Children

Welcome to Mid-Way’s Kingdom Seeker's Children’s Ministry – a team of God called professionals and volunteers using their passion and gifts to lead children. Our teachers magnify the truths of God’s Word in relevant lessons, and our many volunteers assist in a variety of areas to create a fun, child-targeted experience to reach children. And nowhere is that more likely to happen than in the Kingdom Seekers Children's Ministry. We use art, drama, music, multi-media, and creative Bible lessons to encourage kids and help them establish a life long relationship with Christ. The age appropriate, relevant Bible lessons apply directly to the kids’ lives and help kids’ establish a growing relationship with Christ.

Kidstuf

Kidstuf is a face-paced, kid-friendly program. It provides an environment where both kids and parents can learn timeless Biblical virtues through drama, worshipful music, choreography, storytelling, multi-media and more. The virtues emphasized each week strategically coincide with the Children’s Small Groups and both the God Time Cards and Refrigerator Door Resources.

Families are invited to come and listen, laugh, and praise Jesus Christ with the Kidstuf gang every week during your child's Life Group (a.k.a. Sunday School). This ministry provides families with valuable experiences that can be continued throughout the week even after you go home on Sunday. The goal is to live out what is learned. Kidstuf is a very comfortable way for you to invite your friends, neighbors, and co-workers to church to learn about Jesus!

To find out more, please visit our Kidstuf page.

Awana

Why do hundreds of thousands of kids attend Awana Clubs every week? Awana is fun! That's the bottom line for most kids. Of course, they're learning and growing while they're having fun.

Awana Club meetings are brimming with life-enriching experiences for young people! Trained leaders guide children through age-appropriate material. Clubbers learn that God is real, that He loves them, and that He has expressed that love through Jesus Christ. They also learn how to apply the truths of the Bible to their daily lives. In a world desperate for high standards of morality and ethics, Awana uses the BIble to teach children to honor God and their fellow human beings.

Our church offers Awana Club to all ages. The groups are as follows:

  • Cubbies (K3-K4)
  • Sparks (K5-2 grade)
  • Truth & Training (3-5 grade)
  • Trek (6-8 grade)
  • Journey 24-7 (9-12 grade)

To find out more, please visit our Awana page.

Download the Awana Registration Form online. Print it out and bring it to the first night of Awana.

Men's Ministry

The Men’s Ministry at Mid-Way focuses on building godly men that are loving husbands, godly fathers, and strong men of character and integrity to the extent that their circle of influence is profoundly affected for the cause of Christ. Through special Bible studies, seminars, retreats and father/son outings, we give men the tools they need to be men that are loving their wife as Christ loves the church, raising godly sons and daughters, serving in their church, and reaching their peers and circle of influence for Christ. “As iron sharpens iron so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.” Proverbs 27:17

Women's Ministry

The Women’s Ministry at MBC exists to help women face the broad spectrum of life’s challenges by encouraging a vital, growing relationship with Jesus Christ and other women. Through seminars, retreats, Bible studies, and other “just plain fun” gatherings MBC provides the tools necessary to build relationships where growth, encouragement and mentoring can occur. The mission of the women’s ministry is four-fold:

  • To teach women to know God through His Word
  • To equip women to reach beyond the walls of the church and into their communities that others might come to know Christ
  • To bring women into the fellowship of the church that they might grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ
  • To minister to women where they are
