I grew up in the rolling hills of Southern Indiana. After graduation I went 2 years to Morehead State and then to the University of Cincinnati. . I accepted Christ my senior year and we started attending the Landmark Baptist Temple, pastored by Dr. John Rawlings. The next year I joined the staff as Director of Education. Landmark was running nearly 5000 in attendance. Hearing the message of Missionary Dr. Bob Hugh’s, (I Sat Where They Sat,) I surrendered to preach. Upon finishing my 11 years at Landmark, which also included being over the 100 vehicle bus fleet, starting 4 satellite churches, under the umbrella of Landmark, and later being ordained by Dr. John Rawlings.

God lead the Johnson’s to the Northern Virginia, near Washington, DC. God allowed Capital Baptist Church to be founded in a YWCA. Four years later we were able to merge with Bible Baptist, Annandale ,Virginia, located on the inside beltway, around Washington, DC. Later I and Rev. Steve Reynolds, Central Baptist, meeting in schools for 9 years, merged the two churches and he became pastor of Capital Baptist Church. Today it is a thriving church, running 3 services on Sunday morning.
